Fix Common Fit Issues
Quick solutions to ensure every bra fits perfectly and feels comfortable all day
| Problem | What It Means | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| ā Band rides up | Band is too loose | ā Solution:Go down 1 band size (e.g., 34ā32) and up 1 cup size (CāD). This is called sister sizing! |
| ā Spillage (top/sides) | Cup is too small | ā Solution:Go up a cup size. Try fuller coverage or stretch-lace upper cups for a better fit. |
| ā Gaping or wrinkling | Cup too big or shape mismatch | ā Solution:Go down a cup size. Try plunge, demi, or lightly padded styles for a smoother fit. |
| ā Straps dig in | Straps are doing the band's job | ā Solution:Loosen straps and go to a smaller band (up one cup) so the band provides proper support. |
| ā Straps keep slipping | Straps too loose or wide-set style | ā Solution:Tighten straps, try a smaller band, or choose racerback/closer-set strap styles. |
| ā Center gore floats | Cup too small or wrong style | ā Solution:Go up a cup size. Try styles with a higher center or full-coverage underwire designs. |
| ā Underwire pokes | Wire sitting on breast tissue | ā Solution:Go up a cup size. Ensure wire sits behind tissue. Consider different wire shapes. |
| ā Armpit/back bulge | Band or cup mismatch | ā Solution:Check band snugness. Try sister sizing and look for styles with smoothing wings. |
Understanding Sister Sizing
Sister sizes maintain the same cup volume but with different band sizes. This is super helpful when you need a tighter or looser band!
The Rule:
- Down a band ā Up a cup (for tighter band)
 - Up a band ā Down a cup (for looser band)
